YACB - 'Yet Another Cricketing Blog"

As the title suggest YACB to keep all the cricketing lovers en thrilled. As always its for those readers who have always been reading my blogs on cricket and keep posting comments , and dont miss another chance now!!!

So lets kick of - Interesting subject for cricket lovers to ponder about , I know you people would have already guessed it " Best Bowling Actions the World has ever produced" . I think the directors have already picked of their choices in their bags and lets start of the postmortem now .

Let make this more simpler and fresh , i really don't have much idea of bowler of the '60s .We will ponder on the bowlers in the last 3 decades who have produced something special and spectacular.

Classification make work simple , so lets start about classifying the types of bowlers . So here are the nominations , go ahead .

Nominees for The best Bowling Action:

1) Micheal Holding -

Tall , elegant and the quickest bowler the batsmen feared of. Nick name "Whispering Death" has a very quite approach to the crease . The bowler from the islander slated @ 6'4 , Micheal Holding is our first nominee for the Worlds best Bowling Action.

2) Andy Caddick -

Our next nominee in the category for "Best Bowling action " is Andy Caddick. The ease with which this bowler runs to the crease is as swift as a scarlet ferrari on the tracks. The bowler as tall as 6'5 is our second of the nominations.

3)Allan Donald : The Lanky South African , often called as the " White Lighting", seems to be fearsome among the fast bowlers , scowling and aggressive, with a horizontal white line of sunscreen across his cheeks and nose. The now bowling coach of English Cricket Team is our 3rd nominee for the best bowling action in the World.

4)Darren Gough : One of my fav nominees to win this award. The action cant get any bigger than this . Gough is a right arm fast medium bowler and broad in beam, he achieves his pace from a good approach to the wicket and a beautiful, leaping sideways-on action, achieving what is often described as "skiddy" fast bowling.

That ends my list of nominees for World's best bowling Action . Thanks for stopping at my blog and it keeps my blogs rolling .. Post in your comments .

Will keep everyone updating , my next one is on the same lines ..

I go with this order
Allan Donald
Micheal Holding
Andy Caddick
Darren Gough

I would say why, One serious point why Donald is at the top is because of his jump and stylish inside out hand moment that everyone would like to mimic. Also its not easy to generate pace reason, look at that photo, he is almost in air and still his right hand is at aiming position. before he comes down he need to swing his arms.

Next holding, he moved 2nd place. just because he seems to be slightly orthodox.

Next Caddick, because his action is unusual. You wonder how he does that. but still effective and stylish.

gough, is last not because his action is bad. but other three are better..

I would like more entries added in it.. like Vass and will list more if I thinkoff..

It is just waste of time to talk about or even think about cricket, let alone ponder over it. When it comes to cricket I am one of the fans of Bernard Shaw whose golden saying is “Cricket is played by 11 fools and watched by 10,000 fools”. I feel sorry for you guys that you are one of the fools. Instead of concentrating and encouraging cricket, if you (younger generation) could create awareness and promote the innumerable Olympic games that will certainly help earn a good name and lasting impression for India on the world map. If India emerges as the nation among the first 10 countries for the medal tally, then that will be really great and memorable moment for Indians. Did you see the frustration of the Hockey players when they did not get the adulation, which they deserve, for their Asia cup victory? Could you guys explain to me why this step-motherly treatment to other games in India?

@ Revathi : I really liked your statement of George Bernard Shaw. but i believe it the same person who all said the following phrase i guess
"When a thing is funny or foolish, search it carefully for a hidden truth".

So i guess you should be searching for that truth rather than trying to point the fingers at us.

Anyways my thinking was also on the same lines , to give more importance to other sports like Hockey, Football etc.. Still i guess more infrastructure has to be provided for other sports , which our politicians nor our BCCI realizes that. Recently there was a statement given by the BCCI on their revenues & profits earned during the financial year , I was also praying that 25% of that is spent on other sports and its infrastructure .Unfortunately that never happens :)

In India, we can speak of whatever we want to speak. I am more interested in commenting on a bowlers action that a hockey player, that does not mean do not respect hockey. I feel the hockey players would have got the same treatment if the had won a world cup. I also think India wouldn't have got this much of welcome, if they had won Asia cup.
My order on action:
1) Andy Caddick
2) Darren Gough
3) Donald
4) Holding

I can think off
a) Kapil Dev
b) Glenn Mcgrath
c) Bond
d) Alan Mullaly
e) Shaun Pollock

So including Vass, totally 10 options.

How can you ever miss out Waqar Younis, one of the fieriest and fastest bowler who mastered the art of in-swingers and the man with the lethal toe cruncher. How many times has one heard the sound of timber when he bowls. He's got an aggressive run-up, the batsmen is half bowled watching him come steaming in, and one of the first with slinging and round arm action.
